Plans with Dimensions and scale AND a model!

Finally put these together making things more concrete. feels great to have a 1/16th model and some floorplans.

site model with concept

a view of our awesome site model with my concept model.....shows spatial definition and imposing of a organizational system upon the open space. some scale issues going on here....so back to the tracing paper to work some floor plans and establish some dimensions.

Seeing Eye # 3

just can't get enough of the nighttime shots......the light is so ephemeral. Evoking the feeling of highquality computer produced renderings.....contrast but softness.

Clarity of Each Building

Here is where my ideas stand right now. Abit complex and I will have to take each building one at a time. I hope to simplify abit but maintain a playful quality. In terms of materiality I wish to incorporate green screens, glass, wood, and concrete....hopefully a nice combination of hard/soft that plays off the qualities found on the site right now.

Organization of Forms

Here I have begun to organize the
elements and imposed a grid upon the site.

Process Process!

Sketches considering greenspace "islands" and traffic patterns.

The bottom two sketches one plan view the second elevation illustrate the "break down" of the building form and also hint at purposing a complex organization of program, and views that impart organization to the green space left between forms.

Seeing Eye- La Jolla, CA

Salk Institute
by Louis Kahn

An awesome building even though I couldn't get the "money shot" of the interior courtyard!

Site Location/ Studies

Salt Lake is a city with holes, lots of them! This becomes very apparent
when viewing the figure/ground study of our block.
My goal with this project will be to explore a dynamic figure/ground relationship that
amplifies current organizational patterns, views and relationships on the site.

Site Perspective

Looking south along 200W

Yet another parking lot providing a great opportunity to amplify ones urban experience!

Green Oasis

Adjacent to our choosen site at the corner of Pierpont Avenue and 200 W we found this awesome greenscape behind Artspace (a renovated r&R depot fixed up in the '80s).

The possible site for our URBEX project will come from this area of downtown SLC.

Little Cottonwood abandoned mine/rock quarry. Gritty photos of a rough area.
